Our Statement of Faith
We believe that the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testaments without error in the original manuscripts. We believe the Bible is the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of man and is the final authority for Christian faith and life.
We believe that there is one God; Sovereign, Holy and Creator of all things; perfect, infinite and eternal in being; who exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each fully God yet each personally distinct from the other.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, true God and true man. Without sin, He died on the cross for our sins as the perfect Lamb of God. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and is at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit's primary ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgment. He regenerates and indwells the believing sinner at the moment of salvation. He guides, instructs and empowers the believer for godly living. He gives spiritual gifts to every believer to serve the church and to reach out to a lost and needy world.
We believe that God created man in His image but man became sinful through disobedience. All men are lost and alienated from God because of their sin nature and choice to practice sin. All men are under the righteous judgment of God and have no possible means of salvation within themselves. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
We believe that salvation is the gracious gift of God to all who believe and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The shed blood of Jesus Christ, His death, burial and resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation. Those who believe and receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit thus becoming the children of God.
We believe that the ordinances given to the church are water baptism and the Lord's Supper. They are, however, not regarded as a means of salvation.
We believe that the true church is composed of such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and that believers are united together in it. We believe that the church of Jesus Christ is to gather together for the purpose of worship, prayer, instruction and community. We also believe that the church is to actively engage in the Great Commission of reaching lost people and growing them into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will personally return to this earth and that His return is imminent. We believe that death seals the eternal destiny for each person and that there will be a bodily resurrection for each person. At the final judgment, unbelievers will be separated from God to everlasting, conscious punishment; but believers will be received into God's presence for eternity and will be rewarded for their faithfulness to Him during their earthly life.
